Everyday Care

To protect your jewellery:

Put jewellery on after applying perfume, cosmetics, hairspray and skincare products.
Remove jewellery before bathing, swimming, exercising or sleeping.
Avoid contact with household cleaners, chlorine, bleach and other harsh chemicals.
Do not wear delicate jewellery while lifting heavy objects or performing manual work.
Hold jewellery by its gold setting rather than directly touching the diamonds.
Check clasps, posts and stone settings regularly.

Gold is naturally soft and may develop fine marks with regular wear. These subtle signs are a normal part of owning and enjoying fine jewellery.

Cleaning Gold and Diamond Jewellery

For gentle cleaning at home:

Add a small amount of mild liquid soap to a bowl of lukewarm water.
Soak the jewellery briefly.
Gently clean it using a very soft brush.
Pay special attention to areas beneath the diamonds where residue may collect.
Rinse carefully with clean, lukewarm water.
Dry completely using a soft, lint-free cloth.

Always clean jewellery over a bowl rather than an open sink.

Do not use:

Toothpaste
Baking soda
Bleach or chlorine
Abrasive powders
Rough brushes or fabrics
Unapproved chemical cleaners

Do not use an ultrasonic or steam cleaner unless a professional jeweller has confirmed that it is safe for the specific design, stones and settings.

Caring for Lab-Grown Diamonds

Lab-grown diamonds have the same essential physical properties as mined diamonds, but oils and daily residue can reduce their visible brilliance.

Clean them gently with mild soap and lukewarm water. Avoid striking the jewellery against hard surfaces, as an impact may damage the gold setting or loosen a stone.

Caring for Yellow, Rose and White Gold

Yellow Gold

Clean gently with mild soap and a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive products that may scratch the surface.

Rose Gold

Rose gold contains metal alloys that create its warm colour. Keep it away from strong chemicals and abrasive cleaning products.

White Gold

White gold jewellery may have a rhodium finish that can gradually wear with regular use. Professional inspection and replating may be required periodically to restore its bright appearance.

Storage

Store each piece separately to prevent scratching and tangling.

We recommend:

Keeping jewellery in its original Oré box or a soft-lined pouch
Closing chains and bracelets before storing them
Keeping earrings as pairs
Separating diamonds from softer jewellery
Storing jewellery in a cool and dry location
Avoiding direct sunlight, excessive heat and humidity
Placing anti-tarnish strips nearby when appropriate

Do not store multiple pieces loosely in the same container.

Caring for Rings

Rings experience more daily contact than most jewellery.

Remove your rings before:

Washing dishes
Cleaning
Cooking with strong spices or oils
Exercising
Gardening
Applying hand cream
Swimming
Lifting heavy objects

Check the setting regularly. If you notice movement, unusual sounds or a lifted prong, stop wearing the ring and have it professionally inspected.

Caring for Earrings and Nose Jewellery

Keep earring posts, backs and nose-jewellery components clean and dry.

For hygiene:

Do not share personal jewellery.
Do not use harsh disinfectants without professional guidance.
Make sure the product is completely dry before wearing or storing it.
Follow professional aftercare advice for new piercings.

Caring for Chains and Bracelets

Fine chains can stretch, bend or become tangled if pulled.

Fasten chains before storing them.
Lay them flat or hang them separately.
Do not pull a chain to remove knots.
Avoid sleeping or exercising while wearing delicate chains.
Check clasps and links regularly.

Professional Inspection

We recommend having frequently worn jewellery professionally inspected approximately once a year.

An inspection can help identify:

Surface damage
Plating that may require renewal
